What is a fossa and what are its characteristics?
A fossa is a mammal found mostly in Madagascar. (look at map below) It is a carnivore which means that it eats meat all the time. It is the largest carnivore and top predator native to Madagascar. Its coat is reddish brown and its muzzle resembles a dog. It has a long tail, retractable nails, and catlike teeth.
Its Diet:
It hunts small and medium sized mammals from fish to birds. Its favorite food is lemurs.
