Characteristics:
This is one of the biggest moths in the world. The male can have a wingspan of up to 20 centimeters and a  tail span of fifteen centimeters. They only live for 4 or 5 days and are only fertile the first day they are out of the cocoon.
Metamorphosis:
As a caterpillar they only eat fresh eucalyptus leaves. Then they grow to a reasonable size and then they wrap themselves in their cocoon and stay in there from two to six months then they come out a moth. Once outside the cocoon they have to find a mate before it dies. A moth is born without a mouth so it starves to death.
