What does it look like?
A black lemur is between 90 and 110 inches long. It weighs between 1.8 and 2 kilograms. This lemur lives on the top of trees just like an aye-aye.
Which is which?
A male ranges from black to dark brown. A female can be light brown, medium brown, and orange brown.
What do they eat?
A black lemur mostly eats fruits, but it also eats flowers, fungi, some invertebrate animals, and many other things.

The black lemur is now part of the endangered species list. It has lost most of its habitat due to the slash-and-burn method. They are also killed for food and they are captured for pet trade with zoos.
Where they are found!
Black lemurs are found on the northern tip of Madagascar and the islands of Nosy Komba and Nosy Be.
